Alex Rodriguez Calls it Quits

22-year veteran and Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez announced he will play is final game on Friday.

Rodriguez made his announcement on last Friday after the Yankees torched the Indians 13-7. Rodriguez is now 41 and will continue his role as an advisor and instructor with the team until the season’s end.

The New York Daily News aired highlights of the press conference on their YouTube Channel:

A-Rod was forced to tears when he made the announcement. It would mark the end of a career highlighted by legendary numbers which include 696 homers, a .295 batting average, and over 2000 RBIs. Despite all the accomplishments, Rodriguez’s career will forever be haunted by his proven use of PEDs or “performance-enchancing drugs”.

Despite A-Rods tainted past, the baseball world said their farewells to the Yankee legend on Twitter:

Rodriguez made his major league debut in 1994 with the Seattle Mariners before signing a massive deals with the Rangers, and finally, the Yankees.

A-Rod is now fourth on the all-time home run list and will be eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame through 2031.
